Give Joker a chance! The mindset of ky fans makes me crazy! Will Mitch pull the trigger mid-season? "The defense doesn't LIKE Joker" It's April and the KY naysayers are at it already. I for one will stand with Joker and wish him and his team the best regardless of the odds! The SEC football conference is much more challenging than the SEC basketball conference. Please give the man the support he deserves! Go Cats!

You mentioned Davy Jones tonight. Of course his death was quite a shock.

He was 8 years older than me. At the time, they seemed much "older" because they were all grown up while we were not quite there.

I wonder if he knew beforehand and ignored the symptoms. I can see someone knowing something is wrong but not wanting to acknowledge it.

I have seven Monkees Cd's. Two are greatest hits type collections and then I also have a two disc set and a three disc set. I should have most if not all of what they released in the day. I think the total is 168 songs, but there are many duplicates.

It would be hard to say which one I liked best. Micky and Davy were both really good singers. Michael Nesmith was much more talented than many people gave him credit for. He wrote the two songs that launched Linda Ronstadt (Different Drum and Some of Shelley's Blues). I believe that her 45, Different Drum, was the first 45 I ever bought and Paint it Black (the Rolling Stones) was the second one I bought. I know that those two were the first 45's I ever bought.

Peter Tork was kind of understated, but he had plenty of talent too.

I know that they were put together for the TV show, but they did have plenty of talent by their own right. They really were quite a group and they did briefly eclipse the Beatles. Given what all was out about that time, it would be hard to stand out.

As I said, I do not know who would have been my favorite. My favorite song by them (actually the Coasters did it earlier) was called, "D.W. Washburn." I liked its social commentary about do-gooders and the people they try to help. If you have never heard it, give it a listen sometime.

One has to take Bobby Knight with a grain of salt! He' intelligent in some ways and dumber than. a bag of nails in others. He was a great coach in his day and is aninteresting analyst today at times. However his stubborn and biased opinions dismiss him as a credible critic of college basketball. I don't expect him to ever change and BBN shouldn't lose any sleep over his snubbing. There are some people you really don't want in your camp and "the general" is one of them.

I know what your saying using...a person could innocently use a figure of speech that has alternate interpretation. However, in this case I don't think that's the story. To think that the editor innocently used a figure of speech that you don't really hear much anymore to describe the only person or situation that it could possibly be taken negatively seems to be too much of a coincidence. That said, i don't think he should be fired outright...reprimanded and/or demoted, yes but not fired. I'm headed to bed..have a good night.

If "Chink in the Armor" was made about a team nicknamed the Knights, then i would agree it is a figure of speech. What made the editor think of using that phrase when describing a tough outing for a Chinese guy? It wash't a coincidence and the editor knew what he was doing and he misjudged how big of an uproar it would cause.

Re: Chink in the armor.
I think that it is possible for someone who has no prejudice or thoughts that way to completely miss something like this simply because he was innocent. If you do not think that way, you are not as likely to catch something like that. Also, it is entirely possible for someone to realize after it is too late that he or she misspoke.

Recently, in NY, someone put up a Vodka Ad billboard that said something like, "Christmas quality, Hanukkah prices." It did not go over, to put it mildly. Now I would have caught that, but it is possible for someone to miss it.

Anyway, my point is that one can be completely guilty and trying to be coy or cute and do something like this, or they can be totally innocent because they just don't think that way.

Chink in the armor is a figure of speech that we all use without thinking.

USC (not my favorite team) is absolutely one of the most renowned programs in America without question. T Martin is doing nothing more than taking advantage of a tremendous opportunity . There is also no question that the Kentucky situation is vulnerable next year and loyalty only goes so far when it comes to securing your future and that of your family's . I wish him well!
