It’s one thing to lose a 4-star recruit from Louisville to the Cardinals but it’s an all together different matter to lose him to Vanderbilt. To be clear, the player in question is Ryan White and he was committed to U of L and not Kentucky.
Still, he is precisely the kind of player that UK must get to climb the SEC ladder. Joker Phillips cannot allow Vanderbilt….VANDERBILT…swoop in and get 4-star kids from Kentucky. How can you expect a 4-star kid from Georgia come to Kentucky when in state 4-star kids are leaving the bluegrass? You can’t.
Recently, White’s teammate, Jason Hatcher picked USC over U of L. Kentucky apparently was never a consideration. He scratched Tennessee because they lost to UK and in his words “everybody beats UK”. Troubling!
We will discuss tonight with CN/2′s TJ Beisner about the state of UK football recruiting. Of course, we’ll ask Jeff Drummond to join the fray as well.
