I just find it funny how you listed the reasons UK's story of the decade should be the win over LSU, then you call the "Red Sox story" absurd. They were basically why the Red Sox winning the World Series was such a great story. For decades and decades, people have talked about The Curse of the Bambino. How many times have we seen the ball go between Bill Buckner's legs, seen the Bucky "expletive" Dent homer, losing MLBs first one game playoff, etc. One of sports more storied franchises ends it's championship drought after almost 90 years. I could see if you didn't agree it's the top story, but "absurd"? It's absurd you say that. I don't see how it ISN'T ARGUABLY the top story. How quickly we forget how huge that was and how many people it brought back to baseball....even if only temporarily.

Also, UK story of the decade IMO is the hiring of Calipari. The UK win over #1 LSU was HUGE and really big for the football program. However, it was dwarfed by the Calipari to UK story. That went on throughout the summer. Big news in UK football is magnified because of the lack of success throughout it's history.
