  1. David Sproull says:

Coach Brooks and staff have done a great job of improving UK program and making KY competitive. Question remains, What will it take to “climb the ladder” in SEC? Answer is simple: Get better talent.
If football is truly a numbers game, here are the numbers (courtesy of rivals.com) for last 4 recruiting years (06, 07, 08, 09):

4 year total of 4 and 5 star committments:

    Florida 69
    LSU 63
    Alabama 62
    Georgia 58
    S Car 41
    Auburn 41
    Tenn 36
    O Miss 27
    Arkansas 24
    Miss St 18
Ky 8 (2 of which never got to UK)

Numbers may not tell the whole story, but at some point they can’t be ignored. Many UK fans call in and compare our talent base to South Carolina (as being equal or better)
    South Carolinas last 4 classes rated as # 24, # 6, #22, # 12. Ky highest rating was # 36 in 2006.

Thought I would offer the above as food for thought/discussion with Mr. Gidel.
